The fifth edition of “Magnetize Your Creativity” unfolded at T-Works during the Makerfaire 2024, marking the third iteration of India’s most expansive Makerfaire. This event, a confluence of innovation and creativity, attracted over 50,000 attendees, encompassing a wide spectrum of participants including inventors, startups, corporates, tech enthusiasts, educators, schools, universities, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and exhibitors.

Nestled among 80 workshops and 20 interactive zones, our AMR mural stood as a beacon of learning and engagement, inviting attendees to deepen their understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) while offering a creative outlet. The mural’s presence provided an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the critical issue of AMR, echoing the event’s spirit of innovation and community engagement.

Over the course of this two-day event, the “Magnetize Your Creativity” initiative witnessed remarkable participation, with a footfall of more than 5,000 individuals around our installation. Among these, 600 participants — ranging from young school students to working professionals and adults — took part in crafting personalized fridge magnets and coasters. These creations not only served as tangible takeaways from the event but also as powerful tools for spreading awareness about AMR in communities, workplaces, and homes.

The event showcased how art and science can come together at public gatherings to encourage discussions and awareness about global health issues like AMR. By involving a broad range of participants in making magnets and coasters, the initiative tapped into the diverse interests of Makerfaire attendees. This approach helped us spread the word about AMR in a straightforward yet engaging manner, highlighting the role of community involvement in health education.
