We are excited to launch our latest initiative, Resisting AMR: One Farm at a Time!, supported by The Trinity Challenge Antimicrobial Resistance Youth Funding Competition 2025.
This campaign is rooted in the belief that prevention is better than cure. Through a focus on biosecurity-driven solutions such as vaccination, improved animal nutrition, and better livestock care, we aim to reduce the reliance on antibiotics at dairy farms in Ludhiana, Punjab. By tackling AMR at its source, we hope to champion more sustainable farming practices and protect the health of both animals and humans.
To make this vision a reality, we have assembled an incredible interdisciplinary team of AMR research scholars from CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology, veterinary scientists from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, and community engagement experts from Superheroes against Superbugs. Together, we will collaborate closely with local communities to co-create and implement evidence-based, practical solutions on the ground.
We are also grateful for guidance and support from our expert advisors: Dr Vijay Pal Singh (Principal Technical Officer and Associate Professor at AScIR), and Dr Jasbir Singh Bedi (Director, Centre of One Health, GADVASU).
Stay tuned as we share insights, stories from the field, and key learnings from this exciting journey!
