What happens when poetry meets science? This World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW 2025), we’re joining Swissnex in India, Consulate General of Switzerland and partners on 21 November 2025 to bring words, rhythm, and resistance together at the AMR Poetry Slam & Open Mic – a cross-cultural celebration of art, science, and collective hope.

Whether you’re a poet, researcher, student or science communicator or you’re just someone interested in AMR and/or poetry, this is your stage to explore themes of health, resistance, resilience and hope through original poetry.

Poetry Slam (Competitive)

Each poet performs one original poem of up to 2 minutes
Three judges score each performance out of 20 points total
10 for Writing / Content
10 for Performance / Delivery
One winner and two runner-ups will be announced at the end of the evening
Open Mic (Non-competitive)

While the judges tally the results, the stage will stay alive with brief (1–2 minute) performances from non-competing participants.

Feature Poet Performance

A professional poet or performer will close the event with a special set related to the theme of science, health, or resistance.

The winner and two runner-ups will win t-shirts from Adimanav Studios. All participants will receive digital certificates for participation.
